September is Back on Track!

hey guys!
so i kinda fell off the bandwagon with beauty stuff recently. my computer got really sick and i had to fork over a whole paycheck just to make it all better. and then when i got it back, all my stuff on my computer was gone :/ so i lost all inspiration. soon after i started wedding planning like a fiend and i've just not been able to get back into it. i'm sure you all know how it feels to go through a dry spell, even with your greatest passions. so today i'm attempting to jerk myself back into my beauty "columns". i think i'm going  to share my favorite things of late (which reminds me, i owe you guys an August favorites video!), so here we go.

 1. i love everything vintage. planning my wedding has been quite the fiasco. i get bored very easily and i constantly change my ideas and hobbies, looking for new inspiration. so my wedding theme changed about four times before i finally settled on a vintage theme, and even then i had to spice it up by making it a vintage/garden theme! but seriously, vintage is totally in this year. it's amazing all the beautiful things that "vintage" encompasses.
                                                         
 basically, vintage is made up of pin-up fashion, bird and branch silhouettes, skeleton keys, and recycling in creative ways. oh and that cool photo wash that makes it sorta faded in a bluey-pink way. i am in love with vintage.

so i'm lucky that it's trending right as i'm wedding planning. for the sake of surprise, i'm not going to post anything i've picked out for my wedding on here until afterward. i can't ruin it guys! but i'm definitely going to share things i love.

2. i'm addicted to the blue bloods novels. i swear guys, i was born to be rich and among the socially elite. i'm obsessed with Gossip Girl and Vampire Diaries, and this book series is essentially what would have happened had those two books/shows made a baby together. it's amazing. i'm on the second one right now and i can barely put it down. it's dripping with detail of the lives of Manhattan's elite, the upper east side's vampires. it's a completely different take on the, in my opinion overexposed, vampire tale. melissa de la cruz (the author) has created an intricate blend of history and fiction, by including the Plymouth settlers and the Roanoke missing colony (which has always intrigued me) in her story line alongside many centuries of reincarnating vampires. you guys have to read it. my library has them, so i'm sure yours does. it's kind of like eating really expensive chocolate, i feel like i'm indulging on something extravagant...but not spending any money. it's awesome. :)

3. you know those plastic cups with the lids that you can wash? the super eco-friendly ones? loving them. seriously, when you have a demon disguised as the cutest kitty in the whole world, a reusable cup and lid is the most handy thing you'll find. well, besides a spray bottle...mehehehe. anyway, i found mine at the christian bookstore and i seriously don't let it out of my sight. i mean, i love my water bobble too. but this thing has scripture. and a straw. (mine is the one in the middle :))

4. jessie j. this girl is white hot right now. she is one of my new favorite musicians. that chick has pipes. go listen to her. i'm serious. put down whatever you're doing (yes, that means stop eating the french fries), and look her up on youtube. my favorite songs of hers are "mamma knows best" and "nobody's perfect". some of her songs are pretty explicit, but itunes has so kindly provided a clean version of her album. so no worries :) not only does she have pipes that rival christina aguilera and kelly clarkson (my all-time favorite female vocalists), but she's british. BRITISH. they are automatically born cool. so while i sit here listening to her sing and grow evermore jealous, i bow in awe of her amazing God-given talent. sing on girlfrand!

5. okay. i'm about to nerd you guys out. ready? i'm addicted to a computer game called spore. i don't know what's wrong with me, maybe i have a secret evil nemesis inside me wanting global domination, but i can't stop playing this game once i start. i was up until 5 the other morning playing. i didn't even realize the time! let me explain: the game starts you off as a microorganism and you evolve through stages of life, dominating each stage as the top creature on the food chain and eventually the dominating country on the continent. and then you go into space. and you try to take over the galaxy. and that's where i am now. it's weird how i get a little rush when i capture a planet...makes me wonder if i have an altar-ego named "the brain" inside me.
